id go with the zen micro. they just lowered their price and came out with a 5 and 6 gig version. the touch pad takes a little getting used to but if you have knowledge of technology then it shouldnt be a problem. it has a removable battery fm tuner/recorder and a mic. even though the fm tuner doesnt work very well. its also compatible with windows media files

Well, I can't help you unless you give me more information. Do you plan to use this in the gym? Do you plan on carrying a lot of songs? Flash or Hard Disk? Can you please specify more info?

flash vs harddisk
Mar 9, 2005 11:12PM PST

Flash is much lighter, more portable, and consumes less power. It is also much less likely to break down, since there are no moving parts. The downside is that it doesn't have much storage. Most doesn't go beyond 1GB. Not really a bad thing if you just want to listen to music. An average 5 minute mp3 file is around 5Mb. So, a typical 512 Mb flash player would hold around 100 songs, more than enough for anyone to listen to at once.

Harddisk bulkier and heavier, but the storage capacity for some models go beyond 100GB. It's just that, a harddisk.
