I need help connecting my PSP (wireless)

Jul 21, 2006 4:16PM PDT

Just got a PSP tonight! It worked fine at my friends house who has a wireless router, but there was no security what so ever so it connected without hassle. At my own house however, there is a bunch of stuff to deal with! I have a Linksys Wireless-G 2.4 GHz WRT54G Router... When I scan for a network with the PSP, it finds is... says Linsys_SES_(5 numbers) under the SSID, then the WLAN security is WPA-PSK, and I have to enter the WPA Key, which I found on my computer, but I enter it, enter easy address settings, and save the connection, and find that it just times out.

It says "Connecting to access point, exchanging key information"

Help!

(Oh and I think my router MIGHT be locked, but how do I unlock it?)

call your internet provider and ask them how to reconnect your router or call linksys and either way re connect it and change the password to something like your phone number and then try to use your psp. I have the same router and it works fine with my psp. So that should fix it but tell me if it doesn't work.

I found with my PSP i did give it a gateway, local ip address but it was timing out, I soon figured out that I hade to put the MAC Address of the psp on my router's (MAC Address filtering was turned on.)
