VGA, S-video, and the RCA ports are all analog. HDMI is digital. You're going to need a converter (in the analog arena only) to change from VGA to any of the other analog formats supported by the TV.
Do not expect stellar results unless the video card has the same graphics output as the native resolution of the TV. Then, do not expect stellar results.
Hi I have a Compaq laptop running Windows Vista with a VGA Port (I'm not sure if you need my grphics card but i will add that later as I'm away from my laptop right now)
My TV is a 32" Emerson LCD. It had HDMI Ports, S-Video Ports, and RCA Ports.
Does anyone have any experience with making something like this work?
From what I've read I can't just use a cable with vga on one end and one of the other ports on the other end. It seems like I'll more than likely have to buy a scan/converter box.
So my question is what will give me the best result without a huge cost? With port is it best to use on my TV for this to get decent sound and picture quality?
Well any sort of help will be greatly appreciated!
