Question

I need help building a desktop.

Hey guys I'm coming to the conclusion that building a computer is the better route to go. My budget is around 500-800 dollars and am looking to build a computer I can game with. The kind of games I play are not to crazy I think, (i.e battlefield, starcraft 2, halo 2, americas army, half life 2 etc. ) can anyone recommend me the hardware I would need for this?

Go to Tom's Hardware site

and pick out one of the tested configurations listed there. Don't try to pick parts at random, since that can get you into problems.

Good luck.

"Our tests demonstrate fairly little difference between a $225 LGA 1155 Core i5-2500K and a $1000 LGA 2011 Core i7-3960X, even when three-way graphics card configurations are involved. It turns out that memory bandwidth and PCIe throughput don't hold back the performance of existing Sandy Bridge-based machines. "
