General discussion

I need an MP3 for pictures and to play in car which is best?

May 13, 2008 12:17PM PDT

I am buying my first MP3 player but had a few very basic questions.

I would prefer a flash drive MP3 player and NOT an iPod. I would like at least a 2.5 screen prefer larger so I can show pictures I might store or maybe some videos. I do not have a large music collection and would never have near even 1000 songs so I don't have to have a lot of storage for songs, maybe pictures more so.

I would listen the majority of the time in my vehicle. Does the brand matter for that use and what would I need to play via my car stereo?

Thanks for any suggestions.

try the Archos 705, its kinda expensive and big for a normal mp3 player but makes a cheap alternative to a costly car entertain system installation

I can vouch for the Sony Walkman. The sound quality(rated higher than the ipod) is excellent and the earphones need no upgrading. If your car has an auxilary input, connection cables can be found easly at Best Buy,Radioshack, etc. The four gb version would cover your requirements.
