I suggest you google for "HP USB tool", Provided all you want to do is return your hosed flashdrive back to service, then reformat using that tool. It is very generic for any USB storage device and does return many a flashdrive back to service. This is NOT a data recovery tool, thus once you reformat you lose any data. Be 100% when you reformat you select that flashdrive to be done.
I have Sony 8Gb pen drive. I was trying to make it usb win 7 bootable drive using command prompt and messed it up. Now I have two comps with Win and Ubuntu on it: On win7,it shows up under disk management but not able to format. On ubuntu i have drive disk utility, gparted, fdisk and dmesg; nothing could help to format the hard disk. I get this message: [ 402.263947] usb 2-5: device descriptor read/64, error -110 [ 417.553939] usb 2-5: device descriptor read/64, error -110 [ 417.816654] usb 2-5: reset high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 3 [ 430.443970] usb 2-5: USB disconnect, address 3 [ 430.443997] sd 6![]()
