I see that CNET TechTracker is not one of the Exceptions listed for the Windows Firewall on my desktop. Also, forgot to mention I have a router to a second in-home PC on a home network (but haven't anything on it that needs protecting...just games).
with office 2003 and IE 7. Yesterday, after downloading CNET TechTracker app, I saw that I had 12 updates that were available and (after disregarding the ?free trial? of all four MS Office 07; and IE 8; and the beta version of Eudora) performed a download of Mailwasher free. Unlike most updates, it took 6 hours, after which I had to point it to the Eudora program. It?s history did not contain any of my stored e-mails, so I spent rather a long time fiddling with it. Despite that, I next I selected Kodak EasyShare and it was still downloading when I went to bed four hours later. However, it was OK this morning. I wanted to see what else I could waste the day downloading. IrfanView took a while and needed rebooting to restart the download but also came through eventually.
Good program! However, I can?t get the taskbar menu to display the icon. When I click the Desktop Shortcut it tells me its already running and to go to my taskbar notification area to right click its icon. I?ve tried all three of the Customize Properties of the Taskbar (Hide when inactive; Always show; and Always Hide) without any success. It is too shy to make an appearance.
