Question

I'm trying to uninstall something called search.us.com

Jan 17, 2014 7:56AM PST

This program seems to have taken over firefox and comes up as the default screen when i open a new tab even though i have my home page set to something legitimate.

When I go to control panel - add remove programs and click on this program (search.us.com). It comes up with a message that says 'Do you want to allow the following program to make changes on this computer' and it lists the details of the program i want to remove.

This is confusing as it gives the impression the unwanted program is about to take over my computer. Am i misguided here? Is this a windows message that is extremely poorly written saying it is about to uninstall the program? Or is this something malicious? Any help would be very much appreciated.

clking on Help, then on Troubleshooting, then on Reset. That puts your firefox back to original condition. It's considered the "nuclear option" but when all else fails.....
