Question

I'm thinking of replacing my Droid X Cell Phone storage card

I have a Droid X Cell Phone and wanted to know if replacing my 16 GB micro SD card that came with such would be worth it? Said micro SD card appears to be a Class 2 and the one I'm anticipating to purchase is a 16 GB Class 10.

SD cards

Both versions will work in your phone. Class 2 has a maximum transfer speed of 2 Mb/second and Class 10 has a maximum transfer speed of 10 Mb/second.

Iffy.

If you follow what happens in digital cameras and such, most of the time there is no speed up.

reality

The reality is that the maximum transfer speed is directly related to the device that you are using. If the device is only capable of a 2 Mb/second, a class 10 won't actually have any difference in the device. I could not find the actual transfer rate for the Droid X in any of the product details online.

Seems it might top out at class 6.
