I'm missing icons

Jun 27, 2007 12:01AM PDT

Icons missing were all quick start icons, with the exception of messenger which is in the lower right-hand corner. It's gone, too. I immediately ran several programs: CCleaner, CWShredder (found and fixed CWS.Msconfig), Adaware and Spybot, all in safe mode.

Another odd thing that's been happening recently is a box popping up before the the log-in box comes up, saying "A duplicate name exists on the network."

Any thoughts?

Dragon,
"If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem."

Assuming you're running Windows XP right click your Taskbar and under Toolbars make sure that Quick Launch is checkmarked.

I right-clicked the bar, left-clicked Toolbars, then left-clicked quick launch. A number of things came back, including things that were not there, before.

I'm still wondering why I lost messenger -- not that I use it much, but it's a puzzle.
