General discussion

I'm looking for a laptop stand

Jan 16, 2008 8:54AM PST

I'm thinking that I could use a notebook stand for my MBP, and that the better ventilation would help some. I'd like some recommendations on a good stand for it.

Thanks,

Hey BMF.

Check out the inclinepro @ www.inclinepro.com

I have one and I love it. It's ultra light and folds flat so I can take it where ever I go.

Thanks, but I already have one now

I bought an iFold at the Apple Store. It's good enough for what I need it for, though it's a tad hard to type while the Mac sits on it. Kind of shaky... But the MBP is much cooler. I probably will get a wireless keyboard and Bluetooth mouse to go with it sometime in the future.

targus podium pad
Feb 20, 2008 5:21AM PST

When I bought my Powerbook G4 about 4 yrs ago i realized that heat was a real issue w/ the macs (i had just switched) so i picked up the targus - http://www.intellesale.com/-item/6808/targus-podium-coolpad-notebook.html?r161160

it's simple, adjustable and the pivotng base is more of a benefit than i thought it'd be when i bought it.

I picked it up at a local store - might have been @ apple or staples.

my only complaint is that the rubber has finally worn off the nubs tha hold it on an incline so lately it's been slipping off every so often but i suppose after all this time and for under $30 i can't complain.

Thanks for the info

Right now, I have the Matias iFold stand, which works well for me. Interesting stand though. I'll keep an eye out for it should anyone that I know needs one.

I have to confess, I designed, manufacture, and sell the inclinepro. I launched the product at MacWorld this year. I saw your cnet post while doing a search to see if my site appeared. I saw the stand you bought at the show. It is a nice stand to lift the laptop for use with an external keyboard. With the inclinepro, I was trying to make a stand that increased the ergonomics and heat dissipation of the laptop without the need for the extra keyboard. I was trying to create a travel companion for the laptop.

Take care and if you ever need anything, dont hesitate to contact me directly.
