I'm leaving american television. Help!

by mycorr10 / March 12, 2008 8:19 AM PDT

I am a longtime listener of BOL and Gadgettes and wondered if anyone could advise me. I'm moving to France for work this summer but the media addict in me can't give up all the american television. Much of what I watch I can't buy off the itunes store thanks to nbc's snottiness. As far as I know Netflix watch instantly and hulu can't be seen by non-american ip addresses. Also, I'm not into bitorrent since my last cease and desist letter. Are there any legitimate options I can exploit to feed my addiction?

I tried it out yesterday and LOVE it. A 30 second ad right where commercials usually are, and these shows stream for free! It's got all sorts of shows on it.

In reply to: Hulu!

It probably won't work in France. It's US only for now. The site does say it's working on making it global.

In reply to: but....

I'm aware that hulu and netflix watch instantly aren't going to work outside the US. I called netflix to make sure and BOL mentioned the hulu limitations. I may end having to buy my parents a tivo and buying myself a slinbox or something. I'm not going to hold my breath for hulu to go global given how incomplete their catalog is right now. Oh well. At least I'll be getting paid in Euros and might be able to afford a slingbox.
