A few minutes and some scraps of kitchen foil and stiff paper may be enough to push the signal to the other end of your house.
The Belkin Pre-N stuff has a pretty good reputation for improved distance, but it is all proprietary at this time so you'll need new equipment all around.

I have a Powerbook G4 with and Airport Extreme card and I want to buy a router with good range. The question is should I get the Belkin Pre-N router, or a much cheaper 802.11g router. Since I don't have the Belkin Wireless adapter would the range of the Belkin router be that much different than say the D-Link DI 624. I have quite a few walls in between the location of my current router (an old Airport Base Station, that must stay there because its wired to my Desktop computer) and the room I want to get signal in about 80 feet away. Whats my best option?
