GTX, GT and GS are simply various models each with its own quirks. GTX is the most expensive and best and then there are the GT and GS. 7900 Specs link showing the differences between the 3 cards.
For overclocking check out sites like Overclockers.com that should have guides and warnings as understand that by running chips faster than they were intended you can shorten their life among other things.
I want to build a computer for under or around 1 grand. What I want to know is what do the GTX, GT, GS and other letters mean at the end of the geforce 7900/7950 video card names? Also, I do not know much about overclocking other than it makes the processor faster. How do you do it? Are they always auto OC with AI? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. From what i've heard right now core 2 duo is the best way to go rather than amd.
