i recently removed ez armour firewall protection and it took out my works program and i purchased works 8 and it will not install untill the old one is removed but it will not remove because of lost files

Before I start, I must know if you'll want to delete the old Works directory, dive into the registry or not.
Also did you save your files on your backup?

i did back up my files but the disk got injured.there is nothing in the program i can not live without.i really do not how to remove the old one.every time i try to i get the message files lost, renamed or missing and the removal process stops at this point and i have to exit the add/remove programs.please tell me anything you might know to help.bobby meshaw

As personal policy, I never embark on such fixups if there is a chance a persons files would be at risk.
In this case, your Works files could be at risk, so it's up to you to resolve that.
The usual first step is to manuever to "Program Files" and delete the Works directory. Try the install one more time. What happens?
