General discussion

I know we're supposed to hate Sam Walton because

Apr 18, 2020 5:19PM PDT

he tried to take over the world, but check out the stores. All from corporate.
Heavy duty floor appliques (?) for safe distance and one-way aisles, plastic 'windshields' in front of the checkers, shorter hours, old folks hours.
Something new: lady at each entrance with dedicated h/w counting people in and people out. NM has a recent order limiting customers to 20% of capacity at any o e time.
BTW Customer Service closed all day, simply because they lack the trained staff. Not like 'hero nurses', certainly, but the inconveniences go on and on ...

So are you complaining
Apr 19, 2020 4:08AM PDT

because he kept stores open or are you complaining about the 'inconvenience' you have to endure to shop there?

'so are you complaining or complaining?'

Did I get that right?.

Cool

No, as you obviousy know

and chose to duck the question of which of the two are you complaining about.

(NT) Which of them would you complain about?

BUT ...

WHAT IF I'M NOT COMPLAINING???

Think of your sentence....
Apr 20, 2020 8:47AM PDT

"I know we are supposed to hate Sam Walton because"......and then you insert the infamous "BUT" and make it sound like you are going to give him a compliment.

Instead, you list a couple of reasons to continue the 'hate'.....

I'm just asking which of those two things are you actually complaining about....keeping the stores open OR the 'inconvenience' you are put through when you enter the store?

And, as to your last post.....IF you AREN'T complaining, what ARE you stating, cuz it sure SOUNDS like you are.

You got it right.

The "but check out the stores. All from corporate" IS a compliment. What I saw was expensive, first rate and ordered and furnished from the top. (I asked). All done virtually overnight.
One beef against Sam's culture is that it's cheapskate on salaries, benefits and such. Maybe, but not on this operation. Walmart has the money to do this right, and they did it. Most places are doing the bare minimum with colored tape and such.
Many of the heartrending stories out of hospitals involve staffers getting sick, so important jobs are unfilled. Not everyone at Walmart gets to do CS because it's not routine and is an avenue for money to leave the store illicitly. When those people are out sick that's an inconvenience, but we'll survive it, along with the other non-lethal ones.
The capacity checkers are brand new, in compliance with state government requirements, and a 100% drain on revenue.
...
There. I defended my OP.
Say, why did I, anyway? Who are you, the SE complaint checker? Maybe it's because your communications with me are always so courteous and tactful- seasoned with salt, the Bible says- that I'm eager to respond in kind, you babbling idiot.

How's your kid doing? If he's on any base or ship I can think of then he's automatically high risk. Send cookies with immune factor nostrums baked in, or something. Get 'em at Walmart, if they're not out. Good time for him to quit smoking also.
In my day we ordered cigarettes at an outrageously low price- no taxes- and got them the next time we sailed outside the three mile limit off Long Beach.

And you claim that I'M
Apr 21, 2020 5:17AM PDT

the antagonistic one? My son doesn't smoke, but you replied with a nasty assumption that he does. Bite me, you creep. You think we aren't all aware of the fact that he's at risk? Do you think he should selfishly resign his commission in order to avoid a closed quarters situation and protect himself instead of serving is country by protecting people like you?

And you have the nerve to call yourself a Christian of ANY sort? Of course you are.....as long as people agree with your bigotry and hatred for anyone who disagrees with your cult bull...…..

selfishly resign his commission in order to avoid a closed quarters situation

IF you don't take care of yourself...you can't take care of anyone else....

What are your feelings on the commander that was removed from his position for releasing info about Covid 19 on the aircraft carrier?

HE looked out "for the other guy"...Selfish?

The US Navy and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have launched an investigation into the coronavirus outbreak aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier that has left one sailor dead and saw nearly 700 other crew members test positive for the virus.

He'll be reinstated, I'm sure
Apr 21, 2020 6:09AM PDT

His mistake in sending out so many cc'd emails about his concern was that he didn't follow Navy protocols and didn't contact his superior/chain of command. If he had done so, he would have known that help was already on its way. The way he did it allowed for a media leak and he should have known that he would be punished for that probability. The leak didn't get help there any faster than it would have come anyhow.

As for reinstatement....I doubt if he'll get another ship. He'll probably be given some obscure desk job somewhere until he can file his voluntary retirement paperwork so he'll still get his earned benefits rather than lose them all as he would in a court martial if convicted.

This type of situation only keeps proving that the majority of people who contract the virus are ones who are LOCKED into closed quarters situations....such as a HOUSE and nursing homes.

- Collapse -
So you're saying
Apr 21, 2020 7:15AM PDT

if you're locked in a nursing home and never get out...you get the virus?

From the people that never get out?

Same as all those prisoners with Covid 19....

Carriers can bring it to others ONLY when they are confined?

RE:majority of people who contract the virus are ones who are LOCKED into closed quarters situations....such as a HOUSE and nursing homes.

The carriers can NOT transfer it to others that are NOT confined?

And the people that "come and go" take the virus to the outside world? No possibility they could bring it in to the confined spaces?

The military continues to diagnose more than 100 new COVID-19 cases a day

Since late April, the services have averaged between 100 and 200 new cases daily among service members. The most recent count, according to DoD’s data, shows 3,438 cases, up from 2,986 on Friday.

Senior Defense officials have acknowledged that asymptomatic carriers could mean hundreds or thousands of unknown COVID-19 cases among the ranks, prompting a new push for more thorough testing.

“From a military perspective, we have to figure out how to use testing in ways to validate the readiness of our forces to deploy,” Air Force Gen. John Hyten, vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told reporters Friday. “Testing is going to become a critical part of that.”

Testing a critical part?.....isn't THAT what the governors are saying?

There are stats
Apr 21, 2020 9:53AM PDT

showing large numbers of people that have tested positive (either because they have it now or have already gotten over it with hardly, if any, symptoms)….as those numbers increase, and the deaths are taken into consideration, the death rate is far LOWER than originally believed....and although sunshine HEAT can't kill the virus according to some, sunshine DOES affect the symptoms you may or may not show. In other words, being locked into your home and not let outside even to mow your yard or anything else that is done within a safe distance, actually IS detrimental to your health.

Obviously keeping people in nursing homes from having contact with relatives is necessary, but WORKERS in those homes weren't being tested as readily as those in hospitals, and that's on the local and state government's shoulders....not the President. Just as in hurricane's, the nursing homes are the last things to check for some reason.

It makes no difference whether you open the states back up to work or not....people are going to continue to die. Do you agree?

- Collapse -
Is it a "nasty assumption" that he smokes?
Apr 21, 2020 7:55AM PDT

What do we say about you, a smoker?
A smoking parent often means a smoking child. Nasty, or logical? I'm happy he escaped the habit. It's nasty.
Dont worry. Asking about your child's welfare triggers more nastiness from you - won't happen again.

"And you have the nerve to call yourself a Christian of ANY sort? Of course you are.....as long as people agree with your bigotry and hatred for anyone who disagrees with your cult bull...….."
How many nasty personal insults there? AND all unfounded, since you're proud of your wilful ignorance of us.
Facinorous runagate.

- Collapse -
Contrary to YOUR belief
Apr 21, 2020 9:56AM PDT

you did NOT 'ask about my child's welfare' and certainly not out of concern for him....spin your garbage any way you want, it's not being sold as truth and you've proven your bigotry and non-Christian attitude towards those who don't agree with you over and over again.

Now...if I was gay, had a gay partner, and we adopted or even had a child biologically by sperm donation, would you also assume our child would grow up gay? Yes, according to your sick logic.
