I just went from win 7 to win 10 question about updates

Dec 5, 2017 2:19PM PST

I just went from win 7 to win 10 on my dell computer. My question is there is no control over windows updates. I just installed the free version and I don't want windows update messing my machine up. What can I do so they don't automatically update drivers etc. or is it ok to leave as is because I don' know how to change it

W10 is like that on updates.

At the office we have dozens of machines on W10 and have yet to see it mess up. However we run a tight ship and even the drivers are fine. The only area I see others have issues is taking drivers from Microsoft or driver update apps which is why I never use either.

So if you want to control updates, you need to go back to W7 now before your 30 days are up.

Yes there are articles about W10 and updates but at best you can delay them, not block them.

I am keeping 10 as I am very very careful on working on my computer. Actually when windows 7 started with the roll ups I didn't know what to do so just installed it and kept fingers crossed. Never had a problem so what's the difference. I like 10 with classic shell I can still find things but I can with the windows 10 also just not as fast. Thanks for your help
