I just want too....

Im a student, thinking of buying a new laptop/notebook.
I don't game, i need a machine that will burn dvds quickly as well as run normal operations a student will normally require. I use fireworks-dreamweaver, occasionally but not often. what processer class should i look at. AMD 64, AMD SEMPRON, AMD XPP, P-M, P 4-M, Celeron??? any help is appreciated.

Every laptop I've seen offered by the majors has the 2X DVD recorder. To fix this, get the CDRW/DVD and put the DVD recorder out on the USB 2.0 port.

And 64-bit all the way.

While I'd get more R3000's for the office in a heartbeat, the new Turions just started showing up. This may see more notebook sized Athlon 64s and not these desktop replacement type units.
