General discussion

I just updated to 10.4.11, and got a surprise.

Spell check works in the subject line in these forums automatically!

Hope it's not temporary. Happy

... just for you, Angeline. Wink

Have you noticed any other changes in Safari v3 ?

I have yet to update yet, so I have not seen the new browser yet.

No other changes seen thus far.

But I did the update late yesterday, then made one other post, which fortunately for me had a misspelled word in it. So I am just this morning getting into using v3. I've liked Safari from the get-go, except for the subject line bit. (But your manual method worked fine.)

Thanks for contacting the Apple PTB. Happy

Niw that yu mentshun it, I sea that the spel checker works in the subjext line. (Mosstly)

I have been using Safari 3 (Beta) since it was first released and I'm sorry to say that I did not notice if it was in the beta version or not.

BTW, it was not Grim who forced Apple to add it, his spelling is so atrocious that they could not even read his email!

Just as well that I got back when I did. Who knows what Grim would be claiming credit for if I had stayed another week in the UK.
The iPhone launch went well in the UK but it was a busy week for me.

... I hadn't seen anybody else in these forums ask about the subject line issue, I appreciate whomever took pity on me and got it fixed. Happy

Now I've got to concentrate on my eyes. I thought at first you said the "iPhoto" launch went well in the UK. Then I noticed it was "iPhone".

Welcome back!

It worked in the Beta for me,

before I reinstalled Tiger, went back to v.2 and then upgraded to Leopard. In Leopard, it works great.

It's a pity that the iPhone didn't do too well over in Europe. Perhaps they see all of its flaws and think we Americans are stupid for craving it. Maybe their 3G standards may have kept them away, or they simply have all the newer and better technology that our wireless providers have yet to grasp. How sad that is. It makes me feel stupid sometimes that I think the iPhone is an incredible gadget when my European counterparts do not. Of course, I won't buy one until the 3G version comes out for a CDMA carrier. Talk about fast data transfers and better coverage+calls. Yippee.

and in case you have not yet discovered...

if the work is misspelled, Control and mouse click on it and you'll get a contextual menu (including suggested spelling). I presume a multi-button mouse will allow a right-click to do the same.

Early on after my purchase some of you here told me how to use the spell check. I always appreciate information!

You are correct. A right click works with my mouse.

(If it seems that a spell checker is important to me, it is! Happy )

It is a nice tool to use for most people. No shame in that

Happy My question is why you're running 4.11 when you could get Leopard! LOL, I'm just kidding. I haven't used 4.11, but with some of the new improvements that it has, you could say that Leopard IS mostly bells and whistles... interesting since I plunked down for a fam pack. No matter. I don't regret it. The desktop looks cooler now.
