May 25, 2007 12:34PM PDT

I have to turn power off just to get a screen. Hope you can help. It says super power on modem,(system info)?
and when the power comes on the screen says:
American Megatrends
AMIBIOS (c) 2003 American megatrends, Inc.
Release 02/13/2004
cpu: Intel(R) Pentium (R) 4 cpu2.00GHz

Press DEL to run setup
Press F8 for BBS POPUP
checking NVRAM..
256MB OK (32MB shared Memory Size used)

Pressing the above options doesn't work. It's my daughters computor not the one I'm sending this on.
Thanks in advance. M

operating system?

do you mean windows xp? It's a dsl connection, and the last message she rec'd was there was no internet connection. But it was still working before that. I had just finished running all the maintainence checks and clean up on it. She does run limewire and i tunes which I believe instigates the problems.
Thank you for responding, M

Unfortunately, It's Still Unclear What The Problem Is..

Although you've clearly described what you're seeing on the original POST screen, you've not told us whether the operating system loads? What happens after you see all the information you mentioned in your first post? Does XP boot up or not? After turning the power off and restarting the machine, does it begin to start showing the info you described in your first post, then turn into a black screen. Or is it something else.? Or is the problem only that you have to turn the power off to reboot the computer?

Please describe what the problem is.

Hope this helps.
