Which 9?

The old 9.0 may be something you want to pass up. I have 9.2 and it added some drivers that made life a lot better.

As to how to install, in a nutshell:

1. Install XP, but use XP's install menu to create a partition of say 200 GB for XP and don't partition the rest. Let XP install then finish your XP install just like we all do.

2. Boot the SUSE CD/DVD and it will target the unpartition space proper and install a boot menu.

i am quite sure you cant use both at the same time?? dont really know.. maybe if i get two monitors I could??? i am unclear about the whole 2 os idea of working with them. thanks

Define "same time."

I think you need to define that. You wrote it twice so let's be clear that you use XP or Suse, but not at the same time.

-> However, I have played with QEMU and KNOPPIX which, while interesting is not very useful (yet.)

I'd skip 9.0 in my opinion if you can for the latest you can get your hands on.

Suse 9.3 Pro

Native_texan

I have used Suse 9.1 and am now using Suse 9.3 it is a much better distro than Suse 9.0.

I purchased my cd set but it is now available for download

After your computer boots you will get a panel which allows you to select either Suse or Windows.
