Resolved Question

I have fios verizon router (Actiontec MI424-WR REV.F

Oct 29, 2011 7:55AM PDT
and I also have Lynksys wireless N gigabit WRT600N router. I would like to connect Linksys router to verizon router. and have both routers transmit wireless network signals. I want to keep Verizon router as WEP security and Linksys router with 1) WAP2 personal security, MAC address filter and not announce itself. currently I am only connected tp Verizon router. Can not seem to connect Lynksys router<div>

I want to do these things for following reasons.<div>1) On lynksys router I want highest security with only my home computers and devices so that My banking and other security is at highest level.
2) with verizon router and WEP security I like to us as wi-fi for my Blackberry ( it only accepts WEP) and my Vista based laptop (not compatible with WAP2 ). Also when I have any guest who needs wireless connection they can access Verizon router.

Please help

Sadly, WEP is good for about 2 minutes of security.

The kid friendly tools let the kids on your connection in about 2 minutes. Since this is no security at all, you have to think if it's worth keeping the BB for this reason.

As to the second router. Pick the article you like from this google:

http://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+use+a+router+as+a+wap

And please forget about MAC FILTERS. Hiding the SSID, MAC FILTERS are ineffective against the WEP script kiddie tool. So the only effect is more work for you.
