I have aquestion about the Asus Striker Exteme motherboard

I'm having a custom comp built and I'm having the striker extreme put in it. My question is, the qvl that asus has put on this mobo (for the memory) is short. The only companies that I recognize is kingston and corsair. I've heard that the nvidia chip on this board is picky about the memory that is put in it. After reading the qvl I agree. Will any other memory work on this board? I only put quality hardware in my comp. I was reading that ocz has come out with sli memory, I'm looking at this but it is not on the qvl list. I'm not sure whats going on here. If anyone can help with this problem I would appriciate it. Thanks

motherboard in question. You can learn a lot from user comments. You might also see what the RAM vendors show for that product ... most guarantee RAM comptability if bought for a specific product.

Let us know what you get and how it works.

Picky about RAM

I personally haven't used the Striker Extreme in a build (yet), but judging from other Asus boards I've used recently, they can get pretty picky. I wouldn't stray too far from what they recommend, as many have had problems with OCZ, and I've had problems with Mushkin. I'm not sure why Asus tends to be so picky, but that's something you have to deal with unfortunately.
