Question

I have a question regarding Parallels for my iMac

Jul 5, 2011 4:13AM PDT

I need to know if, when I install Parallels on my iMac, will I need a new Win 7 license or will it use the version already installed on my PC?

Answer
What is on your PC? Version, OEM? Preinstalled?

And are you going to retire that license from your PC?

Tell more.

I have a question regarding Parallels for my iMac

I'm running Win 7 with all updates/SP/etc. I didn't know you can retire a license. My problem is, I will be phasing out my PC over time, not immediately, so I will still have Win 7 on the PC and I will need Win 7 for the virtual machine on my iMac. The iMac was just purchased last week so it's the latest version of Snow Leopard.

Then you can't use this 7 license.

But let's say you try to use your 7 license. The worst that will happen is that it will not activate or accept it in parallels. But why I asked the questions was to see if we could tell if that would happen ahead of time.

Without the details, the answer would be unknown.
