Question

I have a Macbook Pro and an issue w/ font size

Sep 13, 2011 3:16AM PDT

Hello- My eye site is not what it once was, so I was attempting to adjust the font size in preferences advanced. The size I initially chose was way to big, so I tried to put it back to what it was with problems. My GMail and Google search especially won't readjust back and I need to click view and minimize text that way. Also, most sites are OK, but some are too large. Can you help me w/ this? Thanks Happy

Clarification Request
Depends on the browser

From your question, I guess that you are looking for an ability to change fonts on the internet pages in a browser. When you open a page and the font is too small, press command and + on your keyboard. If it is too big, press command and -. Some browsers (Firefox 6, iCab) have custom plus and minus that can be put on the toolbar by going to View>toolbars>customize. I guess, only new Camino allows for resizing the pictures, whereas all others only change font size.
If you want to change font size on the filenames, folder names, desktop icons, etc., go to Finder>View>show view options>text size. Please be aware that the main menu (Finder) on the top of the screen has a set font that cannot be changed.
Generally, the glasses also help ))). This is what I use.

My browser is Safari, sorry.

I shall try what you suggest. It's only that I would like to change the font permanently as the help menu in Safari says you can. Mine is now too big and, especially the GMail and Goggle Search pages, they won't return to previous font size. I didn't want to have to click every time I change a web page, which is often. Thnx.

In Safari,

go to Preferences>appearance. You will see the fonts (name and size) that the browser uses. I would play with font sizes and adjust to your liking. Hope the settings stick after you quit...
