Question

I have a LN-T4661F that will not hold the 4:3 picture apect

by rbaffled / July 4, 2011 3:33 PM PDT

If I set the picture using the remote to 4:3 it reverts to 16:9 after about ten minutes stretching the images horizontally. I was told that this was related to the TV being in shop mode. However, none of the solutions works: not holding the exit; not holding volume then menu on the TV itself, etc. I can go to setup but the Plug and Play option is always grayed out and cannot be selected. (The manual says select menu then Setup then Plug and Play to reset.) I also put a paper clip n the hole at the bottom of the remote labeled RESET without results.

make sure you're on the tv

source before trying to go to plug and play, from there you should be able to select the option(no longer greyed out) and continue.

However whether that is the root cause of the issue or not would require more information. Does it do this everytime you turn the tv on? Or is it everytime you go to 4:3? if it is everytime you go to 4:3 no matter how long the device has been left on, then try first just unplugging the tv for 30seconds and see if that clears it up, if that doesn't do it it may need to be looked at by a licensed technician.

PS. To find out if you are in store demo mode press the info button on the samsung remote. It should say demo mode or something similar.
