Question

I have a LG smart TV that is not responding to remote(s).

May 16, 2017 6:04PM PDT

Hello I'm not really sure what model my LG TV is, it was a gift and did not have a box. I know that it is a LG smart TV that was a new gift in 2015.
I checked the back already and there is no number on it as far as I can see.

My problem started whenever I tried to connect an xbox one to my tv, I have already had other gaming systems connected to this TV and they operated just fine.
Whenever I turn my tv on I have a pop up box on a grey screen that tells me 'Only available in TV input Do you want to select TV input' which my remote does not respond to at all. Even if I try and turn the TV off it will not respond and remain on.
There are no power/volume/options buttons on the TV itself. I have checked to make sure that nothing is obscuring the sensor and it seems to be working just fine as far as I can tell. I have even gotten a new remote and programmed it, and it still does not respond.

For a while it seemed that the TV would have trouble responding to the remote, so I'm wondering if there is something faulty with the TV itself.
Any suggestions for what can be done? Or am I out of luck? Thank you for your help in advance.

Clarification Request
Did you put new batteries in the remote?

Did you try it without other connections?

Yes

Yes that's what I did before I even went out and bought a new remote. And also yes, there is nothing connected to it now aside from cable.

Then check that the entire front of the TV is not blocked.

I have made calls to see the TV in a frame. Whoops.

After that it gets expensive as the IR receiver in the TV could have gone bad.

As to the model, https://www.avforums.com/threads/how-can-i-find-out-my-lg-tv-model.1620378/ may not help since the remote isn't working. But there has always been the model number on the back sticker. Once in a while an owner will refuse to get that info (wall mount or other issues.) For those, we send out the techs.
