Question

I have a JVC model GZ-EX250bu, I am using it to live stream

Oct 20, 2013 2:42AM PDT

softball games, not recording them at the time, the camcorder turns off after five mins. at first I thought it was to save battery power but it does the same thing with the AC power adapter in. How can I make it stay on longer than 5 mins. I need it to stay on till I turn it off.

Answer
If JVC doesn't answer or support this.

Time to return it and next time ask if it supports such use. You do encounter folk that get upset when a product fails to work beyond it's intended use but at least you can return it.

Answer
It depends how you are "live streaming"...

Link to the manual:
http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/01/53/15368.PDF
Using wifi to stream starts on page 12 and we assume all the requirements for using "Everio Sync" on page 13 are being followed. The camcorder should run for up to 10 days (assuming available power) until it suts off automatically.

It sounds like the camcorder is in normal video-capture mode and auto power-off is invoked (page 193). Turn that off.

Answer
If you're not recording take media out

With the new camcorders as with the older ones, if you remove any recording media (not sure how you disable inbuilt recording space) and turn auto power off, the camcorder, connected to the mains will stay on indefinitely.
