Custom build computer means nothing. You have to give us a hint.
Motherboard Brand and Model?
Video Brand and Model?

Dont give a website just say what hardware you have

The OS may help also.

I just reloaded Vista on an old intel motherboard DG35EC with an E7200 CPU on an integrated VIDEO on the motherboard and everything works fine. No problems.

I am runnng vista and Vista identified all my hardware!
Intel DG35EC Motherboard
CPU: Intel E7200
Integrated Video
Integrated Sound

Just loaded Vista Last Night and updated all the updates.

So in vista did you install all the updates?
SP1
SP2
IE9
Abode Flash Player

If you have a video card and a sound card you need drivers for them.
