It seems you are not alone. If you don't find a new method or they don't work, a repair shop is next.

I get a trouble code when trying to use my Sony DCR-TRV330 camcorder. The code is:C31:23.The manual says I should be able to fix this my self but the problem is still there.I did exactly what the book says.....no good.Any help would be appreciated,Gary B.

I have the exact same problem. The manual and Sony's e-support say that it needs power reset. hey recommend disconnecting the power (battery or AC adapter) for 60 second and restart.
Well, guess what? It didn't work at all. I suppose only remaining option is repair. But Sony's repair is expensive, I mean very expensive. You could get a new 8mm digital camcorder for that kind of price.
Does any one have any bright ideas who to get rid of code C31:23? The camcorder appears to be fine in all other respects.
Well, it seems I have the exact same problem you have with your machine. I have tried to leave the camcorder out, just to make sure no moisture has interrupted the inner workings. Separated the battery....nothing has worked.
What is the cost of repair?
Anyone else with this issue?
take the tape out ans smack the camcorder...
