Something from the Onion, repeated?

You mean you conservatives want to be rid of competition and criticism?
A "One Party State"?
I wonder where I have seen that before...
I'd rather them stay here and suffer emotional angst than follow their dreams to those Utopian Communist and Socialist "One Party" regimes. Or, maybe they could admit they are Liars just like their Liar in Chief and quit being a bunch of hypocrites about it.
What to call Communist and Socialist who stick around in Capitalist countries to enjoy the higher standard of living, all while moaning about how much better the Commie and Socialist utopian societies are. Reminds me of the dog who sat on a cactus and howled all night long. Didn't like where he was, but was too lazy to get up and move some place else.
Revelation 2
20 "Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works."
She sounds like a religious Jezebaal.
Looks like it is real and she did write it. I guess even she has the right to her own opinion no matter how wrong she is.
Yes...there are religious fanatics everywhere.
Victim of Deadly Church Beating Wanted to Leave Congregation
...peddlers of God's word, who do it for their own sense of power in drawing away people to follow them, not God.
2 Corinthians chapter 2
several translations for clearer understanding.
DARBY
For we do not, as the many, make a trade of the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as of God, before God, we speak in Christ.
DLNT
For we are not like the many peddling the word of God. But as from purity, but as from God, we are speaking in Christ before God.
DRA
For we are not as many, adulterating the word of God; but with sincerity, but as from God, before God, in Christ we speak.
ERV
Certainly not those who are out there selling God’s message for a profit! But we don’t do that. With Christ’s help we speak God’s truth honestly, knowing that we must answer to him.
ESV
For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God's word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.
ESVUK
For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God's word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.
EXB
We do not ·sell [peddle] the word of God for a profit as many other people do. But in Christ we speak the truth ·before [in the presence of] God, as ·messengers of [envoys of; L from] God.
GNV
For we are not as many, which make merchandise of the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
GW
At least we don’t go around selling an impure word of God like many others. The opposite is true. As Christ’s spokesmen and in God’s presence, we speak the pure message that comes from God.
That's what I said.....And it's always "the other guy"
If the preacher, priest, pastor, elder, whatever the leader of the group is better off financially than most members of the congregation, and he didn't begin his ministry that way, then there's a problem there. Think of the Bakkers, the Tiltons, and others who have made big money peddling that which was "free".
Matthew 10:8
" Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses, Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat. "
That doesn't mean some aren't rich by other means, but the church was NOT setup to create riches for those who serve as church leaders. Neither however are they expected to be in poverty, but to have a living wage (the laborer is worthy of his hire).
had to deal with cults. Paul said they went out from us but were not part of us. Satan has his corrupted mimics he inspires to slander those following the Truth.
to listen to one of this person's sermons on anything and I'd probably walk out if I accidentally found myself in their church during one of them. This diatribe isn't about separating religion from government but weaving the two tightly together in a most deceitful way.
"Christian left" or "Christian right" make about as much sense as trying to apply gender to an automobile. The perspective of being left or right speaks to matters of opinion. Those of us who are entirely human have their own opinions but I don't think Jesus came here just to offer an opinion of his own.
