I.E. 8 missing "History" button

In IE 6 there was an icon in the toolbar that was a counter-clockwise arrow that opened an Explorer-like window that let you view your surfing history. I have not been able find either that icon, or that specific function in IE 8.
Can somebody tell me how to correct this deficiency, or is it like the toolbars that grab too much of the room in the window?

Re: I.E. 8 missing "History" button

JTHunter, To view the History in IE 8 click the Favorites (with the star icon) Toolbar button and you'll find a History tab. There is no History button like there was in IE 6.

Well, uh . . .

At the top of my IE8:

File Edit History Bookmarks Tools Help

You must have enabled the menu toolbar

IE8's default is to hide the menu bar. We can bring it back by pressing the ALT key, but then it disappears again as soon as we navigate.

But in Tools > Toolbars, we can 'fix' the menu bar to stay put.

Perhaps you did that?
