EWIDO...

...is now AVG 7.5. That is not the free AVG, right? Is there any advantage to the new (paid) AVG over the current free version?

Thanks,

~Dave

Two separate creatures...

In reply to: EWIDO...

Now that AVG has officially absorbed Ewido there is AVG Antivirus 7.5 and AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 (formerly Ewido 4.0), both of which have free versions available. When it comes to AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5, the paid version includes automatic updates and real-time protection. However, the real-time protection pales in comparison to that provided by Windows Defender (free from Microsoft), in my opinion, so it's not worth the money.

Hope this helps,
John

I now have Windows Defender Beta 2. Thanks for the heads-up.

Use SymNRT...

In reply to: i don't like norton

In cases such as that you need to download and run SymNRT, the Symantec Norton Removal Tool. It should clean up most of it, with RegSeeker taking care of the rest.

Hope this helps,
John
