I don't get it! TV on cell phones. Is 24X7 entertainment

really needed?

CANNES, France (AFP) - With pornography, music and gaming already well established with millions of cellphone users around the world, the burning question now is whether television will make it big on the tiny screen too.

Don't get me wrong. If people want to waste their time and money, it's their choice. However, are there that many who WANT TV on a phone wherever and whenever they go? Is this further evidence of a decline in western civilization, or is it an increasingly desperate and greedy industry?

I think it will sell.

And how about those movies on a cell phones I heard about the other day/

I can see where stuff like sporting events, checking the weather forecast, participating in forums, etc. some might find useful. Those are already being done at the workplace, however.

I have seen people take a battery-powered TV to ball games so they can watch the action and hear the play-by play.

I see folks with cell phones to their ears everywhere I go. I don't know how they do it - it ain't cheap! But I think there will be a market for TV on a cellphone, just because it will be available. Just like so many grabbed up those with which to take photos. When it's new, it sells as some just have to gave the latest.

And a cell phone is lighter in weight than a battery-powered TV. Happy
