I didn't know others did this

Watching a Subaru commercial today

The guy drives into an auto junk yard goes over to a car and removes the knob off the gear shift lever..."Says something about the quality of the Subaru saving his life"

2 of the 3 Hondas I owned, I removed the knob off the shifter and kept them as a momentum, for years. (they weren't crashed, just lived a full life)
