1. See if a repair install of Windows 7 or running sfc /scannow fixes it.
2. Use another media player than the Windows one. Many to choose from. VLC Player is free and plays most media.
3. A new clean install of Windows 7.
4. Wait till Microsoft release Media Player 13.

I was not happy about the new media player since I upgraded to Windows 7 and wanted to roll back to the media player 11 but Windows would not let me install a downgrade and so I found a "solution" online and tried it but it did not work and now I have no media player at all and I have uninstalled and deleted most of my initial media player 12 files. I cannot find anywhere to download Windows Media Player 12 and would love any advice please!!
