Question

I deleted some of my USB drivers

Dec 14, 2015 9:30PM PST

Hello All!

I was having trouble with my USB ports, so after looking around a bit on the web, one site said to delete the USB drivers and then when I rebooted they would be reinstalled. Silly me for believing this.

So now, at least 2 of the USB ports on my computer do not work at all (because I deleted the drivers). I have a Windows 10 machine, and am on a Dell Optiplex 755. I have done some searching on the web, but am unable to find a place where I can download these drivers to fix my USB ports.

I have a driver updater, called "Driver Booster", but it has not been able to recognize that these drivers are in fact missing.

Wondering if anybody has any ideas for me? I would really like to get these working again, because they are currently how I connect my mouse, etc...

Thanks!

You can get drivers for your model using the service tag at dell.com

Driver booster? Never used it. Any good?

it's a pretty good driver updater, however I am surprised that it does not recognize that these are missing.

I have already tried to find it on the Dell website. No luck.

See below.

It appears there are no Windows 10 drivers yet from Dell. For such machines I move to a supported OS.

OR if it's just 2 gone ports I slip in some USB 3.0 PCI or PCIe card and call it done.
