Okay so 2 days ago after some minor overheating issues, I decided that my PC was probably overdue a good clean.
I took it apart, put it back together in the same configuration and all I am getting is problem after problem.
The first time I used it after rebuilding, it blue screened after 20 minutes, worrying. It has not since blue screened (8+ hours of use) but more issues are arising:
First, it began crashing out of a game (rainbow six siege.) The sound would drop after 5-10 minutes of play time (but oddly not when I was in the menus) and then 5-20 seconds after the sound dropped, I would crash out of the game with no error message.
- Next I checked the event viewer, the only corresponding event was an WHEA-logger event 19 with an internal parity error for processor 0 and 2.
I ran a tonnes of diagnostics tools and all came back with a pass for processor and memory.
Now when I log in to windows I automatically get a black screen. I can CTRL+ALT+DEL to bring up task manager but restarting the explorer does not bring up the start menu, I am just trapped with the task manager. I have tried doing different forms of boot but my PC uses an ASUS console type thing that I can't get my head around.
After some frustration, I reinstalled windows and all my drivers in an attempt to fix the problems and with some small bumps along the way however it seemed to be working minus my USB 3.0 ports.
Then as I try to check my drivers with DriveEasy, Steam froze on the updating screen and I couldn't get any further. I reset my PC again and I am back to the black screen after log in. I want to download Rainbow Six Siege again and see if the error reoccurs after the reboot but I am already struggling with the black screens.
I am so ready to quit. This has been 3 days of issues now. Someone please help me. One of my friends recommended I install Windows 10 and told me he thought that would solve my problem but I am skeptical if it is an issue with my graphics card.
I've managed to do a restore but haven't reset to see if the black screen will occur again. My PC specs are as follows:
Windows 7
Intel i7-3770k @3.5Ghz (8 CPU)
nVidia GTX 680 4Gb
16Gb Ram
P8Z77-V Motherboard
Samsung 120Gb SSD
1Tb HDD
