I cant restore my stystem

Apr 4, 2004 12:14PM PDT

I am running Windows XP Home Edition. I have used system restore in the past, and now whenever I try to restore it tells me it is unable to do so, to pick another date, but every date I pick I get the same response. Is something wrong with my system?
Thanks

Itsme,

It would be nice if we knew WHY you're attempting to do the System Restore?

In the meantime, because there are a number of parasites that can cause system-wide problems, please click on the link below and run the free programs advised in Bob Proffitt's post:

In addition, here are a couple of links that might help you trouble-shoot the problem:

Hope this helps.

I have a Dell Dimension 4600 computer. This situation happened to me and I spoke via phone to a Dell computer tech, who said I should do a Windows XP recovery from the disks that accompanied the computer when it was purchased. He talked me through the recovery process as I did it . It was a lengthy process to remove and then reinstall all the programs etc. back on the PC. I suggest you put your My Documents file and any installation icons you may have accumulated on a disk(s) before you do anything else. Via con Dios.

Have you checked how much space you have allicated to system restore, if you havnt got enough it will limit you restore points.

Go into control panel, system, and check the settings on system restore
