Question

I can't get my computer to stop reset loop

Jun 9, 2016 9:54AM PDT

Hi

So this morning I had to force reboot my computer it now stuck in a reboot loop it essentially starts and as soon as the computer logo changes it resets. I've tried getting the advanced boot options to load but they won't it just simply resets tried several times to confirm it. I've browsed many forums trying to find solutions nothing so far has worked. Is there a reason why I can't access my advanced boot options and is there a way to stop the reset loop. I don't have a windows cd so that not a option in a internal windows installation

My PC is Gateway Intel core 13-540 currently running windows 7.

Thanks in advance on any advice

Can you get to the BIOS and

Boot from say some other Live OS media? I boot from USB all the time now to see what's up.

If I can boot a Live OS (see google) then it's often a blown operating system. As what we do next is well discussed I'll stop here.

As we all know such can be had from the web. Or you order restore media. The real trouble for most is they don't have a PC to download and create such.

That machine could be 6 yrs old.

Remove the bios battery and take it to a local merchant...buy a replacement.

By the time you get back the bios should have cleared.

Install the new battery and see if you can access the boot options.
