Dave
Type in "refresh rate" in your help and support. It tell you how to change your refresh rate on your monitor. Try that and see if that helps.
Be careful about setting it too high. Joe

Drivers have to be installed. If you restored from a factory image file(CD) you may have drivers already installed, but you can get new ones.

Go to device manager and look at what the Display adapter shows for hardware. What is it?
nVidia, ATI ? other ?

After the restore did you do SP1 and critical updates?
Some of the newer drivers will not install without
SP1.

Why did you restore? Maybe you have a hardware problem.
