I'd like to have someone take a closer look at your situation. Do you have a transaction number from any of your calls to the Samsung customer service center?
If so, please post it here.
I recently purchased the D7000, and cannot believe the functionality issues this tv has. It is beyond annoying
that EVERY TIME I turn my tv on, I need to press the source button 5
times to get to satellite tv on the component input. No option to turn off the unused, outdated
and useless cable source input, or make the main source I watch be the
default. For a company that can make this sort of tv technology to not
be able to correct this embarassing problem for years, must mean only
one thing - Samsung does not see this as a problem, just as they also do
not see the very bad flashlighting spots on the bottom corners of my tv as a
problem (every one that comes over notices this and it becomes a discussion point. Forget actually trying to watch what is on the tv. Sad). I have been a Samsung tv viewer for over 20 years, but I have
already told everyone I know to stay away from the new Samsung tv's. Even the
PIP feature is completely useless unless you have digital cable.
Seriously Samsung? Seriously? I could go on about the other stupid
problems with this tv, like not being able to control the analogue audio
output level and no option to save customized picture settings (wiped
out after each firmware update). Is it the same with the D8000? I would assume so. Also the guy who sold me the tv swore
there was a coupon in the box for free 3D glasses, and then just apologized when I went back to complain, so no 3D for me (Poor education by the Samsung reps?). I would give anything to
be able to go back to the original tv I was going to buy. Samsung's
standards have obviously been lowered over the years. Every 'reason' Samsung gives for why these issues exist, is a joke. I am about to post a pictorial of all my issues (the above mentioned and others) over on the AVS forums for anyone interested.
