I cannot get MS Access to startup

Feb 13, 2007 12:11AM PST

I have a running version of XP pro SP2 including Office 2003. All the office apps seem to start smoothly except MS Access. Every time I fire it up it goes into the "Wait while windows configures Microsoft office professional" mode and once completed --- nothing.

- No MS Acess Process is running or hanging
- Yes, I have installed and uninstalled and installed

I would be so greatfull if somebody can help.

PS. I have Business Contact manager installed but guess that does not make a difference

So, now i get the enoying "Please wait while windows configures Office Proffesional" message only when i start MS Access and then after a while nothing. Access does not even start. Before i got the message for all office application. I followed the tread and advice on http://support.microsoft.com/kb/825941 but still. I have a feeling it has something to do with mso.dll which i have deleted.

On my pc, i had an installation of office when one day I got the "blue screen of death" and had to reinstall everything. I think its maybe leftovers from that time but I have installed and uninstalled everything except XP.

Help!! this is driving me mad

Sorry but clues are slim in your posts but that crash is telling. Not all system crashes are repairable. I take it you used the Office Removal Tool for the ORK as well?
