I can't get my ipod to connect to our unbroadcast wireless

I have the wireless network "name" and I have no trouble connecting with my laptop but I can't get my ipod touch to connect. Please help!

You're right. Doesn't always work.

There is no extra security in hiding the SSID but there are plenty of support downsides.

Why not use WPA2 AES personal and unhide that SSID? It's quite secure today.
