Question

I can't get a handful of websites to load completely....

I can't seem to find an answer to my issue anywhere, or even what the problem is. I'm using a MacBook Pro, and have not had any issues prior to the past few days.

Anyways, for the past two days, I haven't been able to get some websites to load completely. It's actually only a couple of them, but they are some of the websites I visit most often. (I have no problem going to any of the major sites like Yahoo, Facebook, ESPN, CNN, etc.) The problem that's arisen is that the website takes a while just to load incompletely, as I can't get the full site to come up. For example, the website SBNation.com won't load all the way, instead it will take about 20-30 seconds to load without any graphics. Here is a screen shot of what I'm getting at. You can just go to SBNation.com and any of the sites under its umbrella to see what it is supposed to look like.

This started out of the blue. I have not downloaded anything or changed the settings on my computer or network at all. I tried clearing my cache and installing all new Apple software updates, but nothing helped. Just to see if it was potentially my network or modem, I tried accessing the sites in question from my iPad, and I'm having the same issues on there. So I'm concerned something happened to my modem or router, though I haven't don't anything to change the setting on those in months, and it may be tougher to fix. I'm not exactly computer savvy enough to figure this out on my own, or even have any clue what has gone wrong. I know those websites aren't down because content is still updating daily.

This is really frustrating and I have no idea what the problem is. It seems so minor because it's just a couple of websites, but it is extremely annoying. I want to be able to access my favorites sites, just like I always have. If anybody has a clue as to what has happened here, I would love to know what it is and what I can possibly do to fix it. Thanks for your help! Cool

Figured it out

Apparently my wife downloaded something called Flip4Mac the other day (thanks for telling me!). I uninstalled and deleted it, and everything is back to normal. I have no idea why that program cause the issues it did on certain websites. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for telling.

But it's kind of mystery how that could have influenced your iPad.

I have no clue either

But once I deleted the Flip4Mac, everything was working again on both...
