I can't find My Products - "I want" or "I got" buttons

Dec 12, 2007 10:19PM PST

Hi everyone,

When I first signed up and created my profile, I added all of my products without any problems. I would just search for the product and the button to add was there. Now I can't seem find the buttons anywhere! Is it just me? The only way for me to add a product is to submit a review first, then it's added by default afterwards. I don't want to review every product I own.

And the only way for me to add a product I want is to look at another member's profile, see their products list and the button to add shows up there. There has to be something I'm missing..

It's not just you...

Some changes were made to Cnet Reviews, after which the buttons disappeared. There have been several questions such as yours lately, but for the time being there are no answers as to why it disappeared or when the feature will be returning.

Sorry.

Well, can CNET

add it back? I think it was a great idea, and it's not cool that it's been taken away. Removing stuff and messing with the lists are still available, but you can't add. It is frustrating I guess.
If they planned on removing the feature entirely, they could have just told us so, and removed it from everyone's profiles. But if they feel the need to, the can. All will be well soon, I hope. Maybe CNET will add in a better feature that works differently.

My Products

Hi there,

As you can tell, we have made some changes to our product pages in an effort to make them more useful for CNET members and for new visitors. On these pages, to the right of the product images, you will see a new toolbox that shows other products you have recently viewed on CNET.

This toolbox not only lets you scan the products in your history, but you can quickly go back to the main page for any product by clicking on its thumbnail image. You can also create custom comparisons by selecting the products you want to see specs for and clicking the Compare button.

It is on these custom comparison pages that you can still add each item to your Want It or Got It list. Just look for the "Add to my products" link in the specs column for each product.

In the future, we are planning to tie the features together in a useful and meaningful way. For now, we believe the history toolbox is a feature that more of our members and visitors find valuable on the product pages. So a few extra clicks are required to add something to your Got It or Want It list.

Less convenient, but good to know it still exists.
Thanks.
