Resolved Question

I can't find HDV split in add remove so as to uninstall it??

Feb 8, 2014 7:46AM PST

HDV split not functioning so I need to remove it and reinstall it but it does not show in add remove programs?

Elsewhere someone said to me,

"The last version i think. As I recall, there is no 'install' so it doesn't show up in Add/Remove. Just unzip and run the .exe file which is the app."

I am not sure but the unzip part might pertain to directions the person was giving when I re-download HDV split?

However, I found loads of articles on the internet that talk about how HDV SPLIT is in fact found in add remove programs.

I am all hung up on this - please help!

Find it's home folder and delete it. Then any shortcuts.

That's what we call Manual removal. Something that's been around for a few decades so I'll stop here.

I looked under the "programs" folders - it was no folder

There was no folder under the "programs" folders - is that what you mean?

I don't have strong computer skills so not sure if that's what you meant or something else?

Then it is as folk noted.

Many apps don't install. They just run from where ever. And no uninstall ever needed.

If you have it on a shortcut, just trace that to where it is and delete it.

About skills, Keep at it.

how do I trace it?

Sorry but when I click on the shortcut, there is no properties so how do I trace it?

All I get is, "unpin"

Do that.

If it has no properties you can just delete or unpin. That's a shortcut and can go away. Sorry but I thought you want it gone. Make it gone.

yes - I want it gone and to reinstall

Thanks for all of your help.

Yes - I want to reinstall the program as it is not working.

As you know, normally you would add remove it in programs but as I said - it does not appear there.

So then - all I need to do is unpin it and then reinstall?

Sorry

But this is one of these no install apps. Just unpin, delete...
