Please help me out. I recently changed from cable to DSL at home. No setting changes on the computer but since the change I can send recieve mail at the office via the wireless connection there. However, when I get home I can still recieve emails but when I go to send messages I recieve the folowing error:

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Hello', Account: 'ABEC Mail', Server: 'mail.abec1.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10013, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Please Help Me!

Sounds proper.

If this is this company's email server http://www.abec1.com/ then it is proper to not be able to send mail from outside the internal network. Your IT staff can offer more why this is so.

Received but cant send

Thank you for your help. Our company uses webmail.abec1.com for our e-mail. I use Windows Mail to access it on my computer although I can access it directly via the above web address. Is there anything in particular that may have changed at the office? As mentioned before this was not a problem in the past to send emails from home.

Your IT staff

Needs to step in here and manage this or explain why they changed it.

Remember that exposing a SMTP (the sending part of the email server) to the web is never recommended for reasons your IT staff should explain to you.

If they have web mail, and if they configured it for external use that would work. But only if they allow it.

There is nothing wrong with the PC here.
