Question

I can no longer defrag my C drive. It does not show up in my

I use Facebook a lot and play some games. I have had horrible problems with crashes, freezing, etc. I tried IE9, Goggle Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox and all lock up in Facebook as with other sites too. I am on a Dell Inspiron 1764 using Windows 7-64 bit. I have been having repeated problems with crashing, diagnostic errors, and since the recent McAfee problems, it got worse. Now, when i try to defrag, and pull up the program, my C drive is not on the list. I can't take screen shots either. The button is on my computer, but when i push it nothing happens. Tried Ctrl PrntScr and that doesn't work either. Dell keeps asking me for screen shots and i can't. Now a new diagnostic tool error pops up and i cannot copy or paste it and when i click on the notification it disappears. I just ran Windows diagnostic tool and it lists 9 errors and no solutions! Help. I am a novice at delving into the workings and need help. Everytime i let Dell control my computer a new problem develops. I have also removed McAfee and using Microsoft Security Essentials now.

Not a word about the Dell computer. Model, age and if you do the basic maintenance.

I have been diligent about maintenance. Hardware and software maintenance contracts. Dell put System Mechanic on this computer last year, and just recently i removed it and reloaded it per their suggestion. It had been telling me 3 and 4 times a day to defrag my computer. I used the Disc Defragmenter on the computer and my C drive used to be there. Now it's not. I do back ups on a regular schedule.

Can't help.

I find System Mechanic creates more issues than it solves. I must defer to Dell since this did that.
