I blocked my C-drive in Win 7.. HELP!

Jun 15, 2010 6:38PM PDT

I was borrowing my PC to a friend, so he could watch movies on it.
but I didn't want him to see all my prive stuff on the computer..
So I maked him an account.
but there was still stuff on my C-drive.
I went to My Computer -> properties -> security -> Advanced -> change permissions, and removed all the permissions there.
It says that only "the owner" can change it again, so i thought it was me.

But now I cant get access to my c-drive, or do anything that requires applications through the C-drive (also Windows operations).
So I can't copy, or delete ANYTHING on my Desktop, og the D-drive.

Can anyome help me to figure out, how to get the freaking access to the c-drive again?

Please people, help me.

I can't either do System Restore, or any else systemtools, that requires access to the C-drive.

I think you have to connect that drive to other PC again to change it back.
Or write nice letter to M$ and explain how their security solutions is same like 30 years ago.

You don't tell what Windows 7 DVD you have. It matters because what tools you have vary from the full retail 7 DVD to what HP puts on their hard drives. Read http://windowslive.com/Connect/Post/E8E5CC039D51E3DB-2123982 for the full details WHY THIS MATTERS.

Some question why this detail is needed but today for your issue it does.

Ok. Now that we know we need a Windows 7 DVD, we could research how to get to the COMMAND PROMPT and then learn about CACLS. CACLS is noted widely as how to change permissions but here's a primer.

To fix this, you will be learning a lot about a lot of things.
